YCDFS is grateful for and proud of the broad community support provided to our program.

Our students benefit from funding support from many sources.

Ongoing & Past Fundraisers:

The York County Community Foundation hosts the York City Dollars for Scholars Endowment as well as endowment funds created by several York High alumni classes (1934, 1941, 19M42, 1945, 1951, 1959, 1969).

Local families have honored or memorialized loved ones through "named funds" with the York County Community Foundation, designating YCDFS as recipients of annual distributions towards scholarship assistance.

School district employees and PTO's and school staffs donate special scholarship funds.

Students contribute through the annual "Penny Brigade" (more than 2,000,000 pennies have been donated by school students and their families).

Proceeds from the annual Four Chaplains Prayer Breakfast provide scholarship aid annually to a student who attended Alexander Goode Elementary School.

Individuals and businesses have made generous donations.

Kathyrn Fourhman, John Zimmerman, Dr. Jack Van Newkirk, Arthur Glatfelter, Carolyn Steinhauser, Stephen Stetler, and Joe Wagman have been the generous "victims" of roasts/toasts on behalf of YCDFS.
